Sneak Peek – The Disney Treasure

Cruise

I was so incredibly fortunate to have been invited to a preview tour of the all-new Disney Treasure before it officially begins sailing next month!

This ship is just beyond gorgeous. The deep blues, oranges and browns come together to feel completely warm and inviting. The Grand Hall lives up to its title and truly does feel grand and wondrous.

To begin our tour, we heard from two of the imagineers responsible for designing the interior of the ship.  They spoke to us about their inspiration – stories of adventure like Aladdin, Coco, Moana, and The Lion King.  They also drew inspiration from the families involved in these adventures and the families who will go on their own adventures aboard the Disney Treasure!

We then headed to Plaza De Coco – one of the three immersive dining rooms – where we saw a brief snippet of one of the two dinner shows guests will enjoy on their sailing. We also heard from the creative team that designed this space, who hope guests will escape into a film that is essentially about family and making great memories. Finally, we heard from the chefs who designed the Mexican-inspired menus that will be featured here – I cannot wait to try the Mexican chocolate tart!

Guests will also enjoy dining at 1923 and Worlds of Marvel (where there will be all-new stories to enjoy).

We then got to tour a variety of staterooms, which continue to feature all of the family-friendly features you’re used to on a Disney ship – split bathrooms, plenty of storage including under the ridiculously comfortable queen-size bed, and heavy, light-blocking curtains to separate the sleeping spaces. The art in the staterooms continue to draw on stories of adventure – The Lion King, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Encanto, Up, Finding Nemo, and Luca.

I will never cease to be amazed by the attention Disney pays to even the smallest details.

The most stunning feature has to be The Lion King mosaic in the bathroom of the one-bedroom concierge suite!

After checking out the staterooms, we headed to the Walt Disney Theater where we were treated to the first act of The Tale of Moana. As always, I was blown away by what they are able to do on a cruise ship stage.  Seriously, these shows are just as incredible as their Broadway counterparts.  Grandma Tala left me in tears.

After what was already an incredible day, we headed to what have to my favorite spaces – the immersive lounges that are exclusive to the Disney Treasure —

Scat Cat Lounge

Periscope Pub

Skipper Society

and the star of the show, Haunted Mansion Parlor.

These lounges will be open to all guests during the day and become adults-only in the evenings.  More than just a place to get a drink, there are stories to be told and experiences to be had while immersed in these familiar places.

One of my favorite things about the ship are the Easter eggs that are hidden throughout.  We were told about a few of them, but I can’t wait to spend some more time on board to find them all!

In the Grand Hall, the chandelier pays tribute to the other ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.  There are six lamps that circle the fixture.  Each lamp contains a silhouette of the character statue that appears in one of the Disney ships – for example, Cinderella for the Wish, Donald Duck for the Dream etc.

Another Easter egg can be found in Periscope Pub where each of the six Disney ships’ hull numbers are included in the gauge behind the bar.

It was then time for the ship to head back to Port Canaveral, so after a quick goodbye from Adventurer Minnie, it was time for us to debark!

We spent a little more than 4 hours on board and only barely scratched the surface of all there is to see and do. You will truly need 7 nights to enjoy this beautiful ship!

The Disney Treasure will embark on its maiden voyage December 21, 2024.  It will then sail on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. To book this, or any other Disney cruise, please email me or complete a quote request!
