Disney’s Contemporary Resort is an iconic Walt Disney World Resort.
One of the two resorts that opened with the Magic Kingdom in 1971, this resort is classic Walt Disney World and one of my favorites for trips with littles!
This resort is all about location, location, location. Not only does the monorail run right through the building (thrilling for everyone, but especially for the littles), but there is also a short walking path to the Magic Kingdom. I LOVE being able to walk to and from the park and not having to wait for transportation! This is especially convenient when you have littles who are still taking an afternoon nap. This resort is also on the smaller side, meaning no long walks back to your room when you arrive at the resort.
Boat transportation is also available to the Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge, the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Village Resort.
The rooms in this resort have recently been refurbished with an Incredibles theme.

Many of the rooms have fireworks views – again, great for littles who might not be able to stay awake that late! Rooms on the other side of the resort have a great view of the Electrical Water Pageant.
Amenities at this resort include a feature pool with water slide, a quiet pool and access to the pool at Bay Lake Tower. There is also a splash pad for younger guests.
In addition to the pools, there are many other options for fun and relaxation.
The Contemporary Resort also boasts its own marina with boat rentals and fishing excursions available daily.
Last but not least, there are numerous dining options from casual bites and drinks at Contempo Cafe, the Outer Rim and the Sand Bar, to character dining with Chef Mickey and his friends, to upscale fare at California Grill and Steakhouse 71.
