Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Resorts

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is one of Disney’s moderate level resorts.  This gracious resort is inspired by rural Louisiana and features southern mansions and two-story country cottages lining the Sassagoula River.

This resort has a TON of amenities.

There are several different dining options including the Riverside Mill Food Court, Boatwright’s Dining Hall and the River Roost – home to the legendary Yeeha Bob Jackson piano show.

And, of course, there are pools!  The large feature pool located in the center of the resort and includes a water slide, hot tub, hammocks and the Muddy Rivers Pool Bar.  In addition to the feature pool there are 5 quiet pools located throughout the resort.

And if that’s not enough pools for you, another perk of this resort is the pool sharing privileges with its sister resort – Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.  French Quarter is accessed by a walk or a quick boat trip along the peaceful Sassagoula River.

Other recreation options include a playground, bike and surrey rentals, horse and carriage rides, an arcade, a running trail, and fishing.

This resort also provides boat service to Disney Springs.

My main complaint about moderate level resorts in general, and this resort in particular, is their size. This resort is huge, which means you could have a long walk to reach the feature pool, lobby and restaurants.  That being said, this resort is often priced just slightly higher than value resorts, making the extra walking worth it for the larger guest rooms, dining and recreation options and pools.

This resort is also dog-friendly so you can bring your best friend along!

There are several different room types available including some that include a pull-down trundle bed to accommodate 5 guests and Royal Guest rooms containing regal touches from Tiana and her prince and princess pals.

I stayed in a standard room – woods view.  This spacious room features two queen beds and a small seating area.

Like most Disney resort rooms, this room includes a split bath with a double sink

The sink/closet area is separated from the rest of the room by a curtain featuring Tiana.

I loved the details in this room!  Check out the print on the curtains and the artwork in the headboards.

Here are a few more photos from around the resort…
