Although I try my best to shop small whenever possible, I have been an Amazon Prime member for more than 12 years. There are just some things that are easier to purchase from a bigger retailer and I love that fast, free shipping!
As Amazon Prime Day approaches, I thought I’d share some of my favorite Amazon purchases for travel. As an Amazon Associate, if you shop through the links contained in this post, I may earn a small commission.

Packing Essentials
Packing cubes. I have one set of these for each member of my family. Each family member has their own color. I was really skeptical about the use of these for a long time, but they really do help keep things organized and you can squeeze a LOT into them!
Another item I initially thought was unnecessary – quart-size bags for your carry-on liquids. I always just used a ziploc bag, but because these have a rigid shape, you can fit more into them!
Keeping Little Ones Busy
My 4 year old loves these scratch pads! I buy them in bulk and keep one in every bag!
Stickers are always entertaining. These books are always a big hit with my kids: Disney and Pixar and Frozen.
A fidget toy perfect for little fingers.
And, we also rely heavily on the iPad! We love Speck brand cases for the kids – they have easy carrying handles and can take a beating! We also love these headphones for use with his iPad!
For Bigger Kids
If you have a voracious reader like I do, we love Amazon Book Box. You set the age, reading level and frequency of deliveries and receive recommendations for new books. We’ve discovered so many great reads this way that we would never have heard of otherwise!
This Paint by Sticker book. The designs are quite complicated, and they’ll keep your kids’ hands busy for hours! (These are great for grown-ups too!)
Mad Libs! These are fun for the whole family!
And, when all else fails, both of my kids love their Nintendo Switch.
For You!
This sleep mask. I like how light-weight this one is, and how the shape keeps the mask away from your eyes.
I just ordered one of these airplane foot rests for my upcoming trip to Europe. I haven’t used one before, but I’m excited to try it! I’ve heard this helps make those coach seats a little more bearable!
As is apparently a theme for me, I resisted getting an e-reader for a long time. I thought I really needed a physical book, but I eventually caved and got myself a kindle. Being able to read one-handed is a game changer! It also drastically lightens my luggage!
At Your Destination
This white noise machine. We actually use one of these every night in the boys’ room and have a second one for traveling. I love that it can be plugged-in or run on batteries and it’s small enough to take along anywhere.
Most cruise ships will not allow you to bring an extension cord, but you may still need extra outlets or usb ports. I love this compact surge protector.
Most destinations will have a crib/pack and play for babies, but don’t have great options for toddlers. We love this inflatable travel bed for toddlers/preschoolers. Also great for sleepovers at the grandparents or aunt and uncles!
If you’re going to need a car set at your destination but don’t want to bring along your big one, we love this travel car seat with a 5-point harness. It folds into a back-pack sized carry bag and is easy to install! Again, we don’t only use this for vacation. We get a lot of use out of this for car rides in grandparents/aunts and uncles and friends’ cars!
For bigger kids, this booster seat/ seat-belt positioner is so compact and easy to throw in a bag!
Items to help with those post-vacation blues
