Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Resorts

If I could only stay at one Disney resort for the rest of my life I think this one would be it.

A Disney fixture since opening day, this lush resort truly makes you feel as though you’ve been transported to the South Pacific!

This resort has so much to offer!

There are a variety of room configurations from large rooms that sleep 5 to 2 bedroom, over-the-water bungalows.

There are also several different dining options including ‘Ohana, Kona Cafe, Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (this has not yet reopened from it’s pandemic related closure)  and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto!

Beyond this, the location really cannot be beat.  Located directly across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Magic Kingdom, walking distance to the Ticket and Transportation Center and on the resort monorail loop, it’s an easy ride to both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

In addition, you can easily travel to the other monorail resorts – Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – and to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort giving you a ton of amazing options for other great restaurants and lounges.

This location also means that this is the only resort from which you can see Cinderella’s Castle from the lobby! I especially love the view of the castle from the feature pool (which has a super fun water slide)!

In addition to the feature pool, there is a smaller, quiet pool.

Last but not least, this location also gives you a front row seat to the Electrical Water Pageant and Enchantment fireworks without leaving the resort – the audio is piped in to speakers on the beach!

I stayed in a Deluxe Studio – Standard View in the Villas & Bungalows section.  This room comfortably sleeps 5.

When you enter the room, you will find a queen-sized bed and two comfortable seating areas.

In the couch area, a second queen-sized bed easily pulls down from the wall and under the television, a single bed pulls down.

Because the single pull-down bed is located where the dresser would ordinarily sit, there is no dresser in this room.  There is still, however, plenty of storage with drawers located under the fixed queen bed, a huge closet and additional storage in the coffee table/trunk.

Because this is a Villa, there is also a small kitchenette area with a microwave, sink, refrigerator, toaster and standard coffee pot.

These rooms did not receive the Moana makeover that the standard resort rooms received, but there are some subtle Lilo and Stitch touches!

The best part of this room was the huge split bath with 2! showers!!  This was so convenient for getting ready and out the door quickly.

There is also a small patio area just outside the room – a lovely place to sit and unwind after a long day.
